Cali Marie Stokes was born on December 21st, 1989, which makes her eighteen years old. She's not sure what her mom was on when she named her, considering the reasoning behind her name is actually the state of California. Cali's just grateful her mom decided to leave the 'fornia' part out.
Cali was never really a normal kid, and certainly not a normal girl. As a child, there was no doubt she preferred to play with whatever toy her older brother was playing with. The dolls and stuffed animals she owned herself never ever held her interest.
It was at the age of three that Cali fell in love for the first time, with a boy named Luke Skywalker. Even at eighteen, that love hasn't faltered. In fact, her love for all things Star Wars has only grown. One might say it's a little unhealthy.
It was also around that time, that she fell in love with crayons. That particular love expanded as she got older. At this point art is her life and there is almost nothing else in her eyes. More often than not, the girl is walking around with a smudge of charcoal somewhere on her face. It's her favorite medium, and she strongly believes it always will be.
Saying she's close to her dad is an understatement. In fact, she won't hesitate to say he's one of her best friends, even though sometimes they fight like cats and dogs. Cali used to have a pretty bad temper, but as she's gotten older it's gotten better. However, her dad is the one person who can still make it flare like she never even went through those anger management classes in the first place.
At one point in the past year, Cali was certainly in love. She's still not sure what happened, or what went wrong exactly, but she knew there wasn't something right long before they broke up. Now, she's just kind of sitting in state of confusion, wondering what the hell happened.
It's almost expected, with the love for art and star wars, that Cali also have a passion for video games. She certainly does - or she did. She doesn't get to sit and play as often as she had before, but the year she was fourteen will always be the year she remembers as the year World of Warcraft "stole" her life.
Musically, Ska is her number one and that probably won't change as it's the only music that can cheer her up in an instant.
A few months ago, Cali was ecstatic when her parents informed her that the family was moving due to her mother, a nurse, being offered a much better job in a Philadelphia hospital. The girl thought she wanted out of Longport but found when she actually got to Philly, she was actually extremely unhappy. She's still not sure whether or not moving back to Longport (on her own, without her parents) was the best decision but for reasons even she doesn't understand, she misses home and just wanted to come back.
Currently, she's living with some family in Longport, but is planning to move out after graduation, or in the fall. Right now her time is spent between her shiney new job at the local comic book shop, and just hanging out in general.
Generally, Cali is a pretty nerdy person. She's a klutz and there's times when she can barely stand on her own two feet properly. Her driving is absolutely terrible. She talks too much and more often than not, she'll create an awkward situation out of a completely normal one. In short - she's a lot like any other eighteen year old.
